Dibley 33' Containerable Cruising Yacht
The Dibley 33C uses the same hull form as the Dibley 33R but is de-powered to cater for more stability and internal comfort. Like the Dibley 33R, she also had to fit within a 40-foot container and be shipped anywhere in the world.
Using the same hull form, the draft has been reduced, the sail area reduced, though using the same rig configuration. The cabin is longer and cockpit seating utilised.
Accommodation features an aft-enclosed cabin counter acting the forward double V-berth. An enclosed head to starboard; and a saloon / galley area in the middle complete the accommodation.
The mast is designed to spit into two pieces so that they can also be shipped within the 40-foot container.
A 2-meter protruding prod is incorporated into the bow so that when not in use, it is pulled back into the yacht from the confines of the cockpit. The prod caters for a large masthead and fractional asymmetrical spinnaker.
Structural Engineering is being done by High Modulus (NZ) and will incorporate Carbon, E-glass and a cored hull and deck very similar to the Racing version.
In summary, this yacht will perform well in the local club races, but will also supply comfort and relaxation when in port, or cruising the coast.
